At the end of last season Truagh Gaels won the Monaghan senior league for the first time in 43 years. Truagh ,who defeated us in the all Ireland semi final in 2014 , recently held their presentation night for this great achievement. In a very nice and fitting touch they invited back the manager of the team 43 years ago to present the medals. That was none other than our own Mr Sean McKenna from Lurgangreen. Sean’s three sons Fergal, Niall and Shane all played with the Geraldines. It was a lovely recognition of Sean’s contribution to Truagh Gaels and an example of all that is good in The GAA. Well done Sean.
