Gers U9’s Shine Bright under the Darver Lights. The Gers under 9’s travelled to Darver for to participate in the 4th U10 All county Blitz of the year. The Gers fielded 2 teams of 21 players, and played against teams from Hunterstown, St. Kevins, Lannléire, O'raghallaighs, Glyde Rangers and Naomh Martin. This group have improved hugely over the season and were ultra-combative in all of their games, bearing in mind they are up against players aged 10 and some aged 11. Indeed, opposition coaches commended the teams on how good they were. The coaches are most impressed by the players to win their own ball, pass, move and how they defended like tigers when under pressure in some games. All players received the opportunity to play in a positon for at least 1 game so they can learn their trade Next week will see the last blitz of the year and the coaches plan to deliver a winter training programme with this group over the coming months. The future is bright for the club with this group of bright lights coming through.
