Sadly our Gers U14 Girls lost out in a competitive final on Saturday morning.

In a tough encounter with Naomh Fionnbarra, the first half was well contested with some very disciplined defending and excellent play from our forwards. The Gers girls trailed by the minimum at half time. After the restart the Fionnbars were much more clinical in front of the goals and would take a lead which they never surrendered despite a brave effort and fight back by the girls who battled right to the final whistle.

The Gers put in a huge effort on the day and were much closer than the final score of 2.4 to 3.6 suggests. The girls have continued to improve throughout the year and there will be more finals for this group in the years ahead. The girls were hugely upset at the final whistle with the defeat showing how much it meant to them all.

Thanks very much to the whole panel for their commitment and dedication since February.
