Round 3: U16 League Geraldines VS Blues

After a last gasp win against St.Pats in Round 1 and a disappointing defeat to Baile Talun the lads were back to winning ways on Wednesday night away to the Blues. Despite dominating possession the Gers lads went in only one point up at half time on a score line of 2-7 to 3-3.

Cian Spaight starred in the first half with some excellent frees from long distance and slotted home a well taken goal after a great team move involving Aódhan Gibbons and David Clune.

Defensively the Gers lads began to get to grips with the Blues attack as they only conceded three points in the second half.  Cormac Broe and Owen McGahon intercepted vital ball and drove the team forward with impetus. After scoring a goal in the first half Franciszek Chmielecki was on hand to set up man of the match Aódhan Gibbons and the classy Cillian Lynch for goals of their own.

 The best team score of the night came in the dying embers by the excellent Finn Madine after a incisive pass by Maciej Dobros.

Next up for the lads is Round 4 away to St.Michael’s in Stabannon Saturday at 5.00.
