Round 4: U16 League Geraldines VS St.Michael’s

After a great team performance Wednesday against the Blues the lads were back in action Saturday evening in Stabannon. The Gers were 2-5 to 0-1 ahead at the break after an excellent first half display. The lads kicked some fine team scores early on with the pick of them coming from the boots of Ralf Tinsley and Cian Spaight.

The first goal was the move of the match involving Cian Spaight and Franciszek Chmielecki down the left hand side, the latter then laid it off to the hard running Jamie Soraghan who riffled the net.

Franciszek Chmielecki was then on hand to score a goal of his own after a long kick pass from Man of the match Owen McGahon, who put in a dominant display throughout.

The lads restarted well with 1-1 in the opening minutes of the second half through a free from Cillian Lynch and a well taken goal by the in form Aódhan Gibbons to put the lads 14 up.

To their credit St.Michael’s battled to the end with some fine scores of their own. The most pleasing aspect of the performance was the work rate of the players and the unselfish ball movement, next up is St.Mary’s away at 7.30 Monday evening in Ardee.
