With 31 other teams from across the country, our Under 13s travelled to the Bammel Malone Tournament hosted by Cooley Kickhams on Sat June 8th.
Maybe it was the 8 am early start but the team were slow to wake up despite the gust of a strong cross-field wind!
Losing our two early morning games the lads brought greater energy to their next two games qualifying for a divisional quarter-final.
With a solid performance to dispatch Emyvale a repeat performance versus Bailieboro in the semi-final set the lads up for a showdown versus Éire Óg CLG, Carlow.
After a long day and their 7th game, the lads played with courage and heart before losing by a single point.
Despite the heartbreak loss, it was a great festival of football and fun for the lads.
