🟢⚪️ Senior Men Earn Valuable Point🟢⚪️
St Mochtas 0-17
Geraldines 1-14
Our Senior Men produced a tremendous battling performance on Friday evening to earn a valuable league point away to St Mochtas.
Despite being severely depleted through injury, the lads showed incredible commitment and resilience, leading for almost the entire contest and looking on course for a deserved victory. However, a late surge from the hosts saw them draw level in the closing stages, leaving the sides deadlocked at the final whistle.
Given the number of absentees, this was a hugely encouraging display from Geraldines, with every player putting in a massive shift for the team.
Among the scorers were Danny Nordone (1-2), Beanon Corrigan (0-5) and Michael Rogers (0-4). Geraldines’ goal came following a brilliant attacking move, with David O’Connell embarking on a surging run from midfield before showing great vision and composure to set up Danny Nordone, who finished clinically to the net.
A special mention must go to Jim McEneaney, who made his first senior start in goals. Jim produced an outstanding display between the posts and pulled off a vital second-half save at a crucial stage of the game to keep Geraldines in front.
There was also a memorable night for Finn Madine and Maciek Dobros, who both made their Senior Team debuts. Congratulations to both lads on reaching an important milestone in their Geraldines careers.
While there may be some disappointment at not seeing out the victory after leading for so long, there are plenty of positives to take from a performance full of character and determination
