Saturday saw the seniors take on Dundalk Young Irelands in the second round of the Paddy Sheelan Cup. The Gers ran out 1-13 to 1-7 winners with Dara Hamill scoring 1-9. Our seniors next outing is away to St. Kevins next Sunday at 3pm.

The Gers had a special visit on Sunday from Multiple All Ireland Winner, All Star and Kerry player, Kieran Donaghy. He gave a great inspiring talk to the children and adults alike and was more than happy to sign memorabilia and pose for photos.

Well done to the Geraldine’s contingent who were part of their respective Louth squads this past weekend; Ailis, Rebecca and Alanna for the Ladies, and Jim, Dan and James for the Mens. Great that both county teams continued their recent winning ways.

Club Lotto – This draw takes place every Tuesday and the jackpot stands at €4600.00. Please remember to support your local club by purchasing your tickets before 4pm on the day. As a club, we rely heavily on this income so please support us. Remember you have to be in it – to win it!!!

After 2 very successful registration nights, The Ger’s are delighted to have lots of new members sign up. Mentors and their teams are now in place and training nights have started for several age groups; managers will be in contact with all training information as soon as it’s available.

U10 Boys participated in week 4 of the Louth GAA Blitz held in DKiT. 24 boys, 3 teams, huge effort, commitment and lots of competitive games. Great to see significant improvement in the boys and smiles on everyone’s faces.

Our U16 boys defeated Glen Emmets by 4-10 to 1-6. Well done boys for a good team performance.

U14 Girls travelled to Dromintee on Thursday night for a friendly. After a shaky opening 10 minutes the girls acquitted themselves very well and were competitive throughout. On Sunday they travelled to Queens University in Belfast for a tournament against St Endas, Gort na Mona and Carryduff. Thanks to all who played and came to support the girls.

Sadly, Walking with The Gers and Ireland Lights Up has come to an end. 6 weeks, 6 hours and endless footsteps walked – One Club, One Community. We hope our local community enjoyed this event as much as we did. Thank you to St Fursey’s PTA for donating lovely fruit for our walkers on the last evening.

With the kind support of Frank Lynch & Company, https://twitter.com/FrankLynchCo , our Schools Development Programme is going well and continues this Friday in St Oliver Plunketts NS.
