The club lost a real stalwart this week with the death of Mr Tom O’Donnell. Tom looked after our playing fields for over twenty years and always had them in first class condition. He was a great follower of both the Gers and Louth and will be missed by everyone in McGeough Park. Ní bheidh a leithéid ann arís.
Our senior men continued their good start to the season with a win over St Kevins on Sunday in their 3rd group game in the Paddy Sheelan Cup by a score line of 3-8 to 1-11. Quarter final next weekend, opponents not yet known so please keep an eye on our social media platforms for further details.
Our U10 boys followed Louth to Carlow yesterday and enjoyed a brilliant day out. They had a challenge match v O’Hallrahans GFC before the main game. They got on the pitch at half time and enjoyed kicking ball with the Louth Players. Hard luck to Louth on the finishing score. Well done to Gers trio once again, Jim, Dan and James for making the Louth squad.
Juvenile training has commenced for many age groups; Managers are now in place and all players will be contacted with their days and times ASAP.
Congrats to Louth U14 & U16 girls, and our own Karina Corcoran and Leah McArdle, who won their games this weekend.
