Geraldines GFC Club Notes - 1st April 2019
Our Senior Men start their league campaign this Tuesday 02 April. They take on O’Raghallaighs at home, throw in at 8pm. Please come and show your support.
Red & white fever spread through the Gers Camp all week with the u10s once again following the Louth team to Drogheda. These wee boys have followed Louth’s journey since the beginning and have thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Unfortunately, things didn’t go Louth’s way on Saturday with a draw against Westmeath; so they will remain in Division 3 for another season. Congrats to Gers trio, Jim, Dan & James who all played their part in Louth’s gallant efforts.
Congratulations to Louth Ladies Gaa and Gers duo, Rebecca and Eilis on their win over Carlow on Sunday, 2.17 – 1.8.
Gers under 14 boys won 6.5 to 3.8 against St Pats in the Feile qualifying competition in what was a great game of football. They play St.Fechins in the semi-final on Monday in Darver. Come on boys!!!
Both our u10 & u12 boys travelled on Saturday to Crossmaglen for some challenge matches; all our players raised their performances & played really competitive football.
Our U14 girls went to Burren GAA on Saturday morning and played a highly competitive and hard fought match. A really great work out and just what was needed ahead of the start of the league in a weeks’ time.
Our under 12 girls hosted Kilmacud Crokes Ladies Football in Haggardstown and it was great to see our girls were on on a par with the girls from Dublin and they gave a great exhibition.
Our Minor team played the Clans on Friday evening. The Clans proved too strong but it was great to get a run out and some playing time for the boys.
Congratulations to our €5,400.00 jackpot winner, Geraldine Galligan. Our next draw is for €3,000.00 & takes place on Tue 02 April. Please remember to purchase your tickets. We rely heavily on this income for the development of our club facilities for the whole parish to enjoy.
