Geraldines GFC Club Notes: Monday 26 August 2019

Geraldines GFC are pleased to announce our Mighty Marquee weekend which will be held on Friday 27th & Saturday 28th September. Please join us for a weekend of fun and entertainment. Our launch night is Friday 30 August at Uncle Toms Cabin from 8pm, when all will be revealed……..

The Senior men are out on Saturday 31st against Ardee St. Marys in the Division 1 semi-final. Throw in is at 6 pm in Ardee, so please get out and support the team as they try and reach the final.

Our Junior Mens Team cruised into the semi-final victory over local rivals The Joes on a score line of 2.22 to 1.10. Great performances by these lads.

The cub would like to congratulate Louth LGFA and our Gers contingent, who qualified for the All Ireland Junior Final for the second year in a row. Great achievement and hopefully the girls can go one step further this time.

Friday night saw 2 titantic battles take place in the Gers. First up, our u14 girls played Hunterstown in the Division 1 league semi-final. In a game that ebbed and flowed, extra time could not separate them, and they will lock horns again to see who progresses to the final. Final score 4-3 to 2-9. Great resolve and determination shown by all involved. Our u16 boys had their own league semi-final against the O’Raghallaighs, with penalties deciding the victor after full and extra time could not separate them. A cruel way to end a match which was every bit as exciting as the score line of 2-16 to 3-13 suggests. Go again boys and hard luck.

Juvenile activity continues with training, games and blitz’s. We urge friends and families of the Gers Community to show their support for our teams where you can. Please check our social media platforms for up to date information on all Club activity as well as reports and photos from last week’s games and blitz’s.

We wish all our juveniles the very best for the new academic year which gets underway for many this coming week.

GERS JERSEY COMPETITION …. Over the summer months we are running a monthly competition to see where and with who you will be seen wearing the Green and White. Check our social media platforms for all the ways you can enter our new competition. Monthly O’Neill’s voucher for each successful winner in June, July and August up for grabs. So get snapping. August is the final month of the competition so get your entries in to be in with a chance of winning. Good luck all.

Our Lotto is now €8,200.00. We are very grateful to all those who support the Club. The monies raised are vital and enable us to maintain and upgrade our club facilities for all the parish to enjoy. Remember – you need to be in it to win it!!!! 2euro could see you €8,200.00 richer!!!
