GERALDINES ARE THE LOUTH LGFA SENIOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONS 2019. Congratulations to our Senior Ladies who defeated Cooley yesterday in the Louth LGFA Championship Final to win their first senior championship. This was a great game of football and the Gers would run out worthy winners on a score of 1-16 to 3-06, leading the game from start to finish. Congrats to Rebecca Carr for her ‘Player of the match’ award; very much deserved. This is a fantastic achievement by the ladies, and well deserved for all your efforts and dedication since the start of the year. Well done to all of you and to the management team and helpers. The Gers had plenty of support including many young girls from our underage teams, and after Louth’s win last Sunday we really hope these young girls are inspired and set their goals to be winning such competitions in years to come.

Hard luck to our Senior men who were defeated on Friday night by the Martins in their championship semi-final by 2-10 to 0-10. The men fought gallantly throughout with the goals being the difference between the 2 sides. The season has now come to an end and we take this opportunity to thank all players and management for their dedication and commitment this year and we look forward to next season with renewed enthusiasm.

We still have plenty of activity within our juvenile sector and we urge all our supporters and followers to keep an eye on our social media platforms for up to date information. We wish all of our teams the best of luck in their upcoming games, some of which are finals and semi-finals. Please support the teams where you can.

When a community comes together ‘Mighty’ things can happen. Our arrangements for the forthcoming ‘Mighty Marquee’ are going brilliantly with the weekend is fast approaching. Please join us for the fun and craic as we deliver Strictly Come Dancing ‘Gers Style’ and our own version of the Oscars; Friday 27th and Sat 28th Sept. Tickets are now on general sale and our club house will be open 6-7pm every evening this week; so grab your tickets to avoid disappointment. This promises to be a great weekend and your support, as always, is appreciated. Our Lotto is now €9,200.00; our jackpot has not been won for several months. We are very grateful to all those who support the Club.
