GERALDINES GFC Club Notes Monday 20 July 2020 Geraldines GFC, and the wider GAA community, are delighted that our Gaelic games are back and we hope that during these testing times our players, coaches, volunteers, supporters and fellow gaels have been keeping safe and well.
Our Ladies were the first to taste competitive action with the Junior Ladies winning 1.07 – 0.03 v Newtown Blues and our Senior Ladies followed this up with victory against the Brides on a score line of 3.18 – 2.06.
Our Senior Men are back out Tuesday night when they will take on St Brides in the quarter final of the Paddy Sheelan Cup. Throw in @ 7.30pm at home.
Our Junior Men have a challenge against Dowdallshill on Thursday night at 730pm in Dowdallshill.
Activity within our juvenile section has started with several teams back out training and playing challenge matches. Competitive matches will start for these teams soon and we wish them the best of luck for the season.
We would ask and encourage all parents and supporters to follow us on our social media platforms. The club has recently signed up to a new App called ClubZap. Please download this as it contains all up to date club information including news, fixtures, membership, lotto and all forthcoming fixtures.
Congratulations and a massive thank you to all our Irish Life walkers who helped us win the Leinster Competition securing the club a €2500.00 O’Neill’s voucher which will help us get some new gear and equipment for the club.
Huge Congratuations to our Vice Chairman Bernard McIntyre and his wife Joan on their 50th Wedding Anniversary.
Our club Lotto will be up back up and running soon; when this is we urge our community to continue to support this very important fundraiser. These funds are vital to our club ensure we are able to continue the upgrading of our facilities for the whole of our community to enjoy.
Some of you may have noticed work ongoing at our club and grounds these past few weeks as we continue to make improvements and enhance our facilities.
The club extends its condolences’ to those within the parish who lost loved ones during the lockdown period. May they rest in peace.
We ask everyone who visits our grounds to adhere to the strict protocol we have in place and to be compliant as we endeavour to keep you all safe.
Thank you to all who have volunteered their time behind the scenes to ensure our return to football has been as smooth as possible and that we adhere to the guidelines required of us. This has been no easy task but is much appreciated.
