Gers U16 girls made the hour long journey on Friday night to play Tyholland in Monaghan. The girls started well and rattled the back of the net twice in the first few minutes of the match. Tyholland slowly got into match and gained the upper hand for the remainder of the half. The first 15 minutes of the second half saw the Gers really increase their work rate and attitude and were on the front foot in what was proving to be a very entertaining game. The momentum would swing again with Tyholland finishing the half strongly. We had a good turnout on the night with 23 girls all getting at least 30 minutes of football. Thanks to all who played and travelled and to our hosts. Training continues next week in preparation of our league and championship campaign which commences on Wednesday 5th August.
