GERALDINES GFC Club Notes Monday 27 July 2020 Our senior men were beaten by neighbours the Brides in their Paddy Sheelan quarter final on Tuesday last. They get an opportunity to exact revenge when they meet the Brides again in their Division 1A league match this Sunday 2nd August. Throw in is at 7 pm in the Brides.
Our Ladies continued their winning start to the league campaign with a convincing victory away to the Blues on Sunday morning. Next up is an away trip to Stabannon on Wednesday night, throw in @ 7.30 pm. Our Division 3 Ladies are also in action with an away fixture v Glean Martin on Friday night also a 7.30 pm throw in. All of our teams would be grateful for your support.
Activity within our juvenile section has started with several teams back out training and playing challenge matches. Competitive matches for most of these teams start next week and we wish them the best of luck for the season.
The Gers skill camp is back again from Monday 10th August to Wednesday 12th August. As always, there are a host of top notch coaches attending. Some of the names you can expect to see are Dublin great Paddy Christie, Muireann Ni Scannail and Lauren Magee All Ireland winning Dublin players, Sharon Courtney from Monaghan, Niall Sludden and Liam Rafferty from Tyrone as well as Rian O’Neill and Rory Grugan from Armagh. The camp is open to all players up to and including Minor and we encourage as many as possible to attend so that they can learn from these experienced and highly respected coaches and players. Bookings can be made through the ClubZap app.
#GersJersey Juvenile Photo Competition is Back. Remember to send us in pictures when wearing the Gers colours to be in with a chance of winning a club Beanie hat. Be in on a day out or on Staycation, wear the Green and White with pride and tag us in your photos. We would ask and encourage all parents and supporters to follow us on our social media platforms.
The club has recently signed up to a new App called ClubZap. Please download this as it contains all up to date club information including news, fixtures, membership, lotto and all forthcoming fixtures.
Our club Lotto will be up back up and running soon; when this is we urge our community to continue to support this very important fundraiser. These funds are vital to our club ensure we are able to continue the upgrading of our facilities for the whole of our community to enjoy.
Some of you may have noticed work ongoing at our club and grounds these past few weeks as we continue to make improvements and enhance our facilities. We ask everyone who visits our grounds to adhere to the strict protocol we have in place and to be compliant as we endeavour to keep you all safe. Thank you to all who have volunteered their time behind the scenes to ensure our return to football has been as smooth as possible and that we adhere to the guidelines required of us. This has been no easy task but is much appreciated.
