On Sunday our Senior Ladies made the trip to Newfoundwell to take on Newtown Blues.

Gers got off to the perfect start with 2 goals in the opening 3 minutes from Abbi O'Connor and Rebecca Carr. Blues opened their scoring with a point but Gers added 1-2 to their tally. Points coming from Rebecca Carr and goal from Lauren McFaul.

Blues had a good spell coming to the water break when they scored 4 points to Ciara O'connor's point. After the water break restart points from Emma Gartlan and Rebecca Carr plus good saves from Grainne Boyle left 9 points in it at halftime.

2nd half started with pointed free for the Blues the Gers extended their lead with points from midfield pairing, Lauren McFaul and Rebecca Carr. The 2nd half had a lot of stoppages which didn't help the flow of the game. However, the Gers put the game to bed in the final minutes by scoring 1-3, with 1-1 from wing forward Victoria Fee and points from Rebecca Carr and substitute Louise Corcoran. The next game for the high flying ladies is Stabannon on 29th July at 7.30pm in Stabannon.
