Geraldines 4-17. Cuchullains Cavan 4-14

Geraldines minors made the journey to Mullagh on Saturday afternoon & produced their best performance to date.
A strong Mullagh team made this a very enjoyable game with plenty of fast flowing football and excellent scores. Tough tackling from Frank McGrory, Adam Hoban and Ferdia McDonnell kept the early Cuchullain attacks at bay . We then took control with our midfield of Beanon & Brian taking control and Jai getting to grips with the lively centre half forward.

A great goal from Jamie gave us a lead we didn’t relinquish. Eoin Cassidy and Barra Duffy tormented the left side of the Cuchullains defence creating many chances which the standout player on show Daniel Nordone took advantage off. Finishing with 1-6 from play he was a joy to watch. Equally impress was our full back Niall Henry who despite being a complete novice 12 months ago is getting stronger and stronger.

Mark Leavy’s scoring prowess and the intelligent runs of Neil McQuillan saw us 10 up with a few minutes to go but 3 quick goals despite some great stops by Conor left us a point up entering stoppage time. However a point apiece from Beanon and Brian saw us home.

Many thanks to Cuchullains for the game and their hospitality afterwards. Best of luck to them for the season ahead

For our lads the first round of the league/championship is this a Thursday against Joes/Mochtas
