GERALDINES GFC Club Notes Monday 03 August 2020
Our senior men played out a hard fought draw with the Brides in their Division 1 league opener; final score of Gers 0-10 to 1-07. Next up they play Cooley in a Division 1A league match on Sunday 9th August. Throw in is at 3 pm in the Gers.
Our Junior Men get their Division 4 league underway with a home fixture on Tuesday evening v the Pats. Throw in is @ 7.30 pm.
Our Senior Ladies had a walkover v Stabannon. Their championship gets underway on Monday night in a repeat of last year’s final v Cooley. The match is in the Gers with a 7.30pm throw in.
Our Division 3 Ladies had a great victory in a high scoring match v Glean Martin by a score line of 6-13 to 4-10. The Senior Ladies Junior Championship gets underway on Friday evening with an away match in Cooley, throw in is @ 7.30 pm. All of our teams would be grateful for your support.
Activity within our juvenile section has been busy this past week with many challenge matches taking place in preparation for the start of the league and championship. Competitive matches for most of our teams start this week.

Cúl Camp in the Geraldines starts on Monday and runs for the whole week. We hope all those attending have a great time and enjoy the fun and activities. There are a limited number of places remaining on our
Gers Skill Camp which runs from Monday 10th August to Wednesday 12th August. In addition to an already great list of coaches and players, Dublin goalkeeper Evan Comerford will be giving a goalkeeping clinic and Oisin McConville will be giving a kicking skills session. The camp is open to all players up to and including Minor and we encourage as many as possible to attend so that they can learn from these experienced and highly respected coaches and players. Bookings can be made through the ClubZap App.
#GersJersey Juvenile Photo Competition is Back. Remember to send us in pictures when wearing the Gers colours to be in with a chance of winning a club Beanie hat. Be in on a day out or on Staycation, wear the Green and White with pride and tag us in your photos. We would ask and encourage all parents and supporters to follow us on our social media platforms.
The club has recently signed up to a new App called ClubZap. Please download this as it contains all up to date club information including news, fixtures, membership, lotto and all forthcoming fixtures.
Our club Lotto will be up back up and running soon; when this is we urge our community to continue to support this very important fundraiser. These funds are vital to our club ensure we are able to continue the upgrading of our facilities for the whole of our community to enjoy. Some of you may have noticed work ongoing at our club and grounds these past few weeks as we continue to make improvements and enhance our facilities.
We ask everyone who visits our grounds to adhere to the strict protocol we have in place and to be compliant as we endeavour to keep you all safe.
Thank you to all who have volunteered their time behind the scenes to ensure our return to football has been as smooth as possible and that we adhere to the guidelines required of us. This has been no easy task but is much appreciated.
