Our Minor boys had a short trip to Dromiskin to get their Division 1 league and championship campaign off to a start against a fancied Joes/Mochtas team. In a cagey enough opening half the Gers boys held their own but were being outgunned by the finishing of the opposition who worked some fine scores. A penalty on the stroke of halftime would see us go in 2-06 to 1-02 down. A calamitous 10 minute period early in the second half saw us concede 3 goals to almost put the match out of reach. Rather than throw in the towel the boys dug deep and brought the game to their opponent spending the remaining 15 or so minutes bombarding the opposition with wave after wave of attacks. However the Joes/Mochtas would hold out and see out the game on a score line of 5-13 to 3-10. If the mistakes were cut out and the boys played for the whole 60 minutes then the result may well have been different. Well done to all who togged out and we look forward to our next outing v Kilkerley/Malachys next Thursday evening.
