Our Senior Mens started their Championship campaign on Sunday. They play out a draw against St. Patricks.

They started with a bang scoring 1-1 in the 1st 2 minutes. Goal coming from the right boot of Michael Rogers and point from Jim McEneaney. After 2 pointed frees from the Pats, the Gers had 2 goal chances which they could not convert with one crashing off the crossbar from Fearghal McDonald.

3 points coming from Michael Rogers, Josh Arrowsmith and Jim McEneaney ensured we had a 4 point lead at the water break. Pats finished the half better scoring 1-3 compared to 2 points from Jack Reid and Feidhelm Joyce leaving a point between the sides at the break.

The 2nd period was not as free flowing as the first. Only took 3 minutes before the sides were level. 2 Jim McEneaney points straight away put a bit of light between the teams. A Pats point was cancelled out by a Jack Reid free. 20 minutes would pass without another Geraldines score. During this time the Pats reduced the deficit to level the game once more. A Jim McEneaney pointed free would put the Gers ahead going into the final 5 minutes. The final score of the game was a free for the Pats inside the 45. A controversial ending happened when the referee was adjudged to have blown the final whistle early. Next up is O'Raghallaighs on Sunday in Stabannon at 4.30 pm.
