Gers U-14 girls down Cooley in thriller. The Gers u-14 Greens enjoyed success against Cooley last night in very windy conditions. Playing with the wind in the first half the girls put in lots of early ball into the full forward line and notched up 4 goals and 5 points before half time. However Cooley responded with two goals of their own to make it 4-5 to 2-0 at the break. The wind picked up in the second half and the girls found it very difficult to get out of their own half in the third quarter. However some incredible defending meant the gers girls kept their noses in front going into the fourth quarter. At this point a Cooley win looked the likeliest outcome but the girls dug very deep and battled for every ball. They got their rewards and added a further 2-3 to come out on top with four points to spare. Hearty congratulations to both teams on a very entertaining game of football.
