Our u14 boys travelled to Darver on Saturday afternoon for the second and final day of 7 a side Competition which is also being used to select players dor Louth u14 development squad.
Our green team started with a very tough game against a very physically strong Cooley team who avenged their defeat the previous week. The Cooley lads with a string wind advantage over-ran the Gers with a succession of early scores. Our lads juat weren't at the races and had no answer to the Kickhams fast running and support play alrhough they did hit back with two goals. The second half saw the Gers battle back well but they were convincingly defeated.
Their 2nd match was a closer gintest against N.Mairtín. The game was level at the break but a couple of late goala gave the Monasterboice lads the win. The lads worked tirelessy and showed great attitude and spirit.
The White team started of against St Mochtas and proved to strong for the Louth Village boys. The second game was similar with the Gers team recording another convincing win thanks to a tight defence and good transition play. Their support play was excellent and some very accurate shooting meant their dominance was reflected on the scoreboard.
