The challenge for the Gers Div2 team for their match with the Newtown Blues was to match the enterprise, effort and skill of the Div1 team v St Fechins 24 hours earlier.

We are delighted to report that both matches delivered in spades. There was grit and determination on show throughout and lots of good passing. The sides were level at the end of Q1 and at half-time, and during Q3 we managed to get a foothold and take a lead. But the Blues came back, as we led by a goal going into the last quarter. In the end we came out on top 5-8 to 2-10 in our best match this year. As always our middle eight worked their socks off.

The team has a unique feature of having four sets of twins playing (Not many others could claim that). Our special mention this week goes to our two goalies making fantastic saves at one end, and when playing outfield both of them scored goals. A great win and well done to all 20 who took the field.
