Too hot to handle!

The u12 boys had a hot encounter with Naomh Martin on Saturday evening. Before the match there was a minutes silence in memory of Joe Ginty, father of NM coach Ollie Ginty. The first half was a close affair although the Gers lads did not have their shooting boots on and the Monasteboice raced into an early lead with with some well taken points. A goal and several points followed for Naomh Martin as they opened up a 12 point lead coming to the end of the third quarter. A Gers goal by Conor Muckian before the water break brought things back to 9 points. The spirit and belief shown by the Gers lads in the final quarter was breath-taking. They managed to bring the score back to within 1 point and then a well taken goal by Killian McKevitt had the lads leading for the first time. They managed to stay in front during an exciting final few minutes to record a satisfying win. The manner in which they overturned a significant deficit again shows the character and spirit within the team.
