U13 Boys A Championship

Geraldines U13 Boys hosted Naomh Mairtin on Wednesday night in an entertaining game with two fully committed teams ensuring the result was in the balance until the full time whistle. Unfortunately the Gers came out on the wrong side of the result with the Martins prevailing in the end.

A bad start saw two Martins goals within the first 3 minutes and this was ultimately the difference in the end but our Gers boys battled back bravely, defending superbly and gaining a foothold in midfield holding their opponents to 0-1 for the rest of the half as we chipped in with 3 points. In the second half further good defensive play and improved attacking play resulted in some well worked points from play and frees and a good team goal helped Gers draw parity with 7 mins left. Although dominating at this stage the Gers just couldn’t get their noses in front and in a high scoring finale Martin’s managed to get down the field to get another goal and two points. The teams then traded further points as the Gers battled to the end. Final score Naomh Mairtin 3-8 Geraldines 1-9.
