The U12 boys kicked off their U12 Championship campaign with a visit to Kilkerley Emmetts on Wednesday evening. The match was a good spirited affair, with 22 Gers lads togging out an a fine evening in Kilkerley. The Gers lads had the better of early exchanges with some well taken points easing some early nerves. A purple patch mid-way through first half saw the Gers score 4 unanswered goals which opened up a bit of daylight between the sides, and meant the Gers were on top at half time. The 2nd half was more evenly contested with some nice score taking at both ends. There were periods of nice football from the Gers, with some impressive individual performances. The Gers lads kept battling hard to the end, and every player on the squad played their part to enjoy a satisfactory result.
