The U12 boys continued their U12 campaign with a home match against Cooley Kickhams on Saturday evening. In all, 22 Gers lads turned out on a fine evening for football in Haggardstown. The first score of the game came from a beautifully executed point by Oscar Little, which settled any early nerves. Roan Carroll took note and managed to hit the net twice in succession to open up some daylight. The ever impressive Sean Spaight also contributed with 3 first half points, while Roan added some points of his own as a result of some impressive forward passing and teamwork. Danny de Lasa finished off a nice move the 2nd quarter with a high shot which found its way to the net, which meant the home side had the advantage coming into half time. The second half continued in with some more excellent points including 3 from Roan Norton, and 3 from Sean Spaight who finished with a personal tally of 0-6. The final score of the night was from Tiernan Bradly who finished neatly from a tight angle. The entire squad contributed in a good team performance. It was satisfying to see some training moves being employed on numerous occasions. The were many fine individual performances, and in all it was a team effort and an enjoyable outing. Maith na gasuraí agus GRMA @cooleykickhams for travelling.
