The U12 boys continued their U12 campaign with a visit to Roche Emmets on Saturday evening. In all, 22 Gers lads turned out on another perfect evening for football. The first half was evenly contested as both teams registered a number of nicely taken points. Sean Spaight once again impressed for Gers with a personal tally of 1-3 in the first half. James Scanlon also chipped in with a couple of points to leave the Gers up by 2 at half time. The Gers lads continued the 2nd half in the same manner, with Roan Norton leading the way with a hugely impressive personal tally of 1-5 after his introduction at half time. This opened some daylight on the scoreboard as the Gers kept the scores coming. Joseph Lynch rattled the net midway through the 2nd half and soon after added a couple of points, which meant game was out of reach for the hosts before Rónán Duggan added a further 3 points to finish off a satisfactory evening for the Haggardstown lads. It was once again a squad performance, with each of the lads playing their part. There were periods of nice inter-play with skills being shown off both left and right hands and feet. There were many fine individual performances, and in all it was a team effort and an enjoyable outing. Maith na gasuraí agus GRMA @Glen_Emmets for hosting.
