U13 Gers Girls

The second outing for the U13 girls saw the Gers host Hunterstown on Tuesday evening. The girls were keen to eradicate a narrow defeat to Cooley in the opening fixture. The match saw the team with a full squad and everyone played their part in a brilliant performance. Our passing, tackling, and reading of the ball were excellent. The backbone of the team began with strong performances from Ava, Megan and Phoebe in half-backs. Behind them the fullback line were solid in defense including Kate, Anna, Blaithin, Meabh, and Leah. The midfield of Sarah, Ailish, and Aoife carried the threat into the attack continually. And in the forwards Bianca, Julie, Laura, Meadhbh, Aoife, Zoe, Eimear, and Heather performed admirably. Their radar were certainly tuned in as we scored 3-05 in the first half and 3-06 in the second half. One the night the scorers were:- Julie 0-04, Laura 2-02, Aoife S 1-02, Aoife F 2-03, Bianca 1-00, to leave the end scoreline 6-11 to 0-00. Well done to the girls, with great play all over the field. We must continue to work hard in training to keep improving for the next match.
