The Geraldines Senior ladies secured top place in Group One in the Senior Championship following a six-point win over the Clans last Sunday. The win means the ladies are set up for a quarter-final contest against Cooley as Geraldine's hope to book a place in the Semi-Final in two weeks.
The Geraldines got off to the perfect start with two quickfire scores from Rebecca Carr and the Geraldines forward was on hand to score a third point as the sides traded scores in the early exchanges of the contest. The Geraldines got two more scores before halftime, Zoe McGahon got her name on the scoresheet before Rebecca Carr got her fourth score to give the Geraldines a two-point lead at halftime.
The second half saw the Geraldines score three points without replay with Carr, Kellie O’Donoghue and Ciara O’ Connor adding their names to the points tally followed by a brace of points from second-half substitute Victoria Fee, Fee was on hand to score the Geraldines only goal of the game beating Janine Pepper in the Clans goal at the near post.
The Clans scored a point and converted a penalty late on but an impressive second-half performance ensured that the Geraldines ended the group phase of the Championship on a high.
