Friday night lights in Haggardstown as our Junior Men began their championship campaign with a comprehensive win over St. Josephs. Some free-flowing play from in the first 10 minutes saw our lads open up a 5 point lead. Before the 1st half water break, Conor McGowan pounced on a mistake from the Joes back line and buried it into the net. 3 more points before halftime gave the lads an eight point lead.
The Gers started the 2nd half as they left the 1st, knocking over 3 points before Killian Dempsey added another goal to the scoreboard. Gavin Lynch then produced the point of the night, having cut through the Joes defence and finishing a beauty on his right foot.
The Gers were in full flow now and Paul Molloy added a 3rd goal. A deflected Joes goal to give their 2nd of the night took the shine off a super performance from the lads. Next game in the group is against Clan Na Gael in 2 weeks.
