Geraldines u15 girls put in a spirited display in their division 1 game on a sunny Saturday morning in Phillipstown against St. Kevins.

The girls found the going tough in the first five gradings games in this new age group but have continued to work hard in training and were rewarded with a good win over St.Mary’s Ardee last week.

Having suffered a heavy defeat to the same opposition in the gradings game the Gers girls showed from the throw in they were determined to play to their potential with some great attacking football and three 1st quarter goals. The first half was extremely tight and the Gers trailed by 2 at the break. The Kevins had a strong 3rd quarter to increase their lead to 5 points but the Gers were very unfortunate with a couple of goal chances cleared off the line. The Geraldines saved their strongest performance for the last quarter which they dominated thanks to determined performances all over the field. The kevins broke down the field in the final minutes to score a goal which sealed the win for them but had the Gers been a little more clinical in the final third of the field, the result would have been different.
