Week 2 of our November series of blitzes for boys born 2007-08 was held on Saturday afternoon in great playing conditions in McGeough Park. Massice thanks to our senior players who were in attendance to manage and coach each team. This week we had Daniel Nordone, Josh Arrowsmith, Jim McEneaney, Beanon Corrigan and Matt Corcoran.
33 lads played out 3 matches for each team followed by a cup and shield final. The senior players were really impressed with the quality of passing , team work and skills on show in the entertaining games.
Well done to the Joint managers Matt Corcoran and Josh Arrowsmith who managed their team to success in the cup final defeating Beanon Corrigan’s side. Matt must have picked up some managerial tips from Mickey Harte at Louth training this year. The shield was won by Danny Nordone’s team who narrowly defeated the team jointly managed by Jim McEneaney and Josh Arrowsmith in an exciting game that went right down to the wire.
Each week we are acknowledging any outstanding examples of the skills of Gaelic football displayed by the boys. There were a lot of contenders this week and the list of SportDirect Skills Awards this week are:
Point of the day – Joint between Eoghan Sweeney in 3rd game and Cillian Lynch in 1st game.
High Catch - Owen mcGahon in 2nd game.
Tight marking – Thomas Quinn-Stuttart
