Week 3 of U13-14 November blitz series
32 lads turned out for a really entertaining afternoon of football. All the matches were evenly contested with the boys showing great commitment throughout. This week’s senior players in attendance to coach the teams were David O’Connell, Conor Magowan, Shane Rogers and Sean McEneaney. This week the cup winners were Shane Rogers’ team who worked hard to defeat Conor Magowan’s team in the final. The shield final provided the most exciting finish seen so far. The teams were all level with one minute remaining when Cormac Broe curled over a magnificent long range point a that looked to have sealed the win for Sean’s team but David’s team worked the ball straight up the field with a great bit of passing and running and Eoghan Sweeney shot to the top corner of the net with the last kick of the ball to snatch the victory.
Huge thanks to Sean, Conor, Shane and David. It is fantastic to see our senior players getting involved with our underage teams and for our young players to get to know them.
Each week we are picking out demonstrations of skills of Gaelic that deserve to be recognised and this week there were plenty on view.
