The u13 boys travelled to Hunterstown to play Mattock/Hunterstown on a fine Friday evening.

The hosts got off the mark with an early goal before the Gers lads got time to settle into the game. The Haggardstown lads responded well, and registered some fine points to take a commanding lead.

The Gers scores kept coming, and despite several scores from the hosts late in the half the Gers lads led by 7 at half time.

Sean Spaight once again led from the front with 0-6, aided by Joe Lynch 1-3, Rónán Duggan 1-1 and Roan Carroll 0-1.

The third quarter was evenly contested, as the sides traded scores. The Gers defence kept the hosts at bay, with impressive performances from all the lads, and in particular James Scanlon, Daniel Hanna, Oliver Kerley Conall Gaughran.

In the final quarter, with the help of strong midfield play by Aaron O’Donoghue & Joe Lynch, the Gers lads pulled away with a late scoring spree, which included 2-1 from Roan Norton, 1-2 from Sean Spaight and a point each from Roan Carroll and Hugo Nolan.

It was a satisfactory outing for the lads, with many fine performances, too many mention all.
