The u13 boys had their 2nd match of the 13A championship group stages, with a visit of Oilibhéar Pluincéad to McGeough Park on Wednesday evening.
Right from the throw-in, the home side gave an excellent performance, with some tenacious tacking, great team interplay, resulting in some well taken scores which meant the lads had a commanding lead coming into half time.
The second half continued in the same way, as the green and white lads continued to keep the score board ticking over.
This was another team effort, starting with Jacub Perkowski who made some good saves when called into action.
The full back line of Jake Shelley, Conall Gaughran, Sam Murphy and the commanding Jack Kavanagh ensured the opposition forwards had very little space.
At half back, Sean Garvey, Roan Carroll, Conall Gaughran and Daniel Hanna won a lot of ball, with Daniel helping himself to 1:1 in a second half spell up front. Roan also contributed to the scoreboard with a tidy 1:2 in a first half spree.
In midfield, Aaron O’Donoghue and Niall Coleman had a good evening, and were the platform for many attacks.
At half forward, Danny de Lasa did well on his return from holiday, Sean Spaight was impressive as usual with a cool 1:3 in the first half, and Hugo Nolan had his shooting boots on with an impressive 2:3.
In full forward, Cillan McKevitt, and Roan Norton combined well, with Roan keeping the score board ticking over with a personal tally of 0:7, maith-thú!
Joe Lynch impressed with a 2:3 contribution ,while Rory Power had the last score of the night raising the green flag for the last time in a satisfactory outing for the home side.
Ross Nordon and James Scanlon did well initially, and were both unlucky to be forced off with injuries and we wish them a speedy recovery.
GRMA Oilibhéar Pluincéad for a sporting encounter.
On the back of that result, the lads qualify for the knock out stages – Maith sibh agus Comhghairdeas!!!
Next outing is against Glen Emmets next week.
