Na buachillí f14 welcomed Clan nan Gael to McKeogh park on Saturday evening for a u14 league match. The conditions were perfect and both teams served up an entertaining match.

The first period was end to end, as both sides had periods of dominance, and after 30 minutes a single point separated the teams. Aaron O’Donoghue managed 2 goals and Hugo Nolan also raised the green flag in the opening period

Playing with a slight breeze, the home side started the second half well and had the scoreboard ticking along nicely, helped by some neat points by Joe Lynch, who registered 0:5 in total in an impressive performance. Sean Spaight caught the eye as usual, with some superb scores as the Gers raced ahead, and finished with an huge tally of 2:8. The visitors came back into the match with some nice scores of their own. To their credit, the hosts dug deep and ground out the result with some well taken scores, including a goal by Roan Norton.

The lads can be very proud of a good performance against a strong Clans side.

Jacun Perkowski was reliable as ever between the sticks.

Niall Coleman gave a commanding performance in defence aided by a tough tackling full back line of Sam Murphy, Conal Gaughan and Oran Minnock.

James Scanlon was equally effective at half back, along with Sean Garvey, Roan Carroll, Ross Nordon and Danny de Lasa who hit the crossbar in the second half following a great team move.

Aaron O’Donoghue and Rónán Duggan worked tirelessly in midfield, and both had great performances.

Joe Lynch led the line at half forward, with Harry Melaniphy, Sam Jeytoo, and Hugo Nolan involved in many nice team moves.

Sean Spaight was dangerous up front as ever, with Oscar Little, John Smyth, Roan Norton a constant threat when they got the ball.

It was a superb performance, and the spirit and effort shown by all the lads pleased the coaches.

Maith sibh! 👌

Next match is against St. Fechins next weekend.
