The U14 boys travelled to TullyAllen for the last u14 match against Glen Emmets on Tuesday evening. Numbers were low due to various unavailability and the lads faced an uphill task to continue their winning streak.
The first half was evenly contested with chances on both sides before Cillian McKevitt pounced in the box to put the visitors in front. Roan Norton added a point soon after as the lads began to settle. The home side had a purple patch including 2 goals get back in front before James Scanlon registered the final score of the half with a superb point from distance.
The home side had the better of the second half and kept the score board ticking over. Cillian scored an impressive point to finish with a personal tally of 1-1, maith thΓΊ πͺ
To their credit the lads kept battling and Joe Lynch finished a nice move for the final score of the match. Despite the result, the Gers lads move forward to the semi-final stages.
It was a good outing despite the score-line, with some impressive performances. Patrick Muckian, Sam Murphy and Ross Nordon battled hard in defence, with some great tackling on display.
John Smyth & Sean Garvey played well at half back, as did James Scanlon who had a superb match.
Joe Lynch & Niall Coleman combined well in midfield and were involved in many good moves.
Harry Melaniphy, Roan Norton & Hugo Nolan played well in half forward and were dangerous when they got on the ball.
Oscar Little and Cillian McKevitt led the line in style, with Cillian ending up as top scorer in an impressive outing.
