The Geraldines Junior ladies recorded a third successive victory by beating the Dundalk Gaels in Dundalk on a Tuesday evening in very warm and sunny conditions.
The Town Girls opened the game more brightly recording the first score before Lauren Forrester replied with a well-taken goal after an excellent passing move. Loise Corcoran added three more points before Karina Corcoran scored another goal as she blasted the ball towards the net. The Gaels were to score two points but the Geraldines were in fine scoring form with points from Aislinn Connor, Anya Rodgers, Leah McArdle and Fionnuala Cafferty and Louise Corcoran adding another goal just before the break.
The ever-versatile Ava Connor was steady in goals in the first half before swapping roles to midfield joining Fionnuala Cafferty in the 2nd half and she scored a good goal.
Faye Tinsley and Zoe Stewart were always alert to any danger in the full-back line with Ailis Todd in good form at half-back.
Eimear Fee put in another hard-working performance in midfield and the girls kept up the good scoring form in the second half with Aislinn Connor adding another point and the Zoe Stewart switching to forward and scoring two goals. Leah McArdle was busy in the half-forward line and notched her second point and the ever-dangerous Lauren Forrester added another 1-02 to compliment her earlier goal. The Gaels hit back with a goal and some well-taken points but hard work from Aoife Verling and Laura Cosgrove made scores difficult to come by.
Karina Corcoran added a point before Louise Corcoran finished the scoring with a well-taken point to finish with 1-04.
Well done to both teams who kept working right to the end of an entertaining game in hot conditions.
