🟢⚪️ Geraldines Walking track launched with 100k in 30 days charity initiative with special guest Jarlath Burns🟢⚪️
The Geraldines are delighted to announce the official opening of its walking track which was installed in the last few months.
A community project funded by the Louth Leadership Programme will see members of the community use the facility as an enclosed and safe space to walk on our club grounds.
As part of the opening, we welcomed the local charity initiative 100kin30Days to coke and kickstart the month of June where people from all around Ireland are challenged to walk, run or cycle 100k in 30 days to raise vital funds towards cancer treatment. This year's chosen charity partner has been the Marie Keating Foundation with a member of the Keating Family present to represent the foundation.
Our guest of honour on the night was Silverbridge native and incoming GAA President Jarlath Burns who was there to officially open the track and launch the beginning of 100kin30Days. He met with members of the club, the community and players of the club both young and old who were present on the night. Jarlath along with club chairman Brian Cafferty cut the ribbon on the track following a prayer blessing conducted by Rev Father Padraig Keenan PP.
We want to wish all those undertaking the 100kin30Days the very best of luck but also want to sincerely thank Jarlath for his time coming to Haggardstown we wish him well in his role and term as President of the GAA and we hope to see him at the club very soon.
