On their third outing in the Monaghan league, the Geraldines U-16 girls finally got their first win of the campaign.

After a defeat to table toppers Scotstown and a hard fought draw against Castleblaney Faughs, the girls exploded into life last Monday and showed glimpses of last year’s u-15 form.

From back to front there were excellent performances. They defended resolutely throughout giving their opponents little space and transitioned from defence to attack with pace and accurate passing. Some of the goals were out of the top drawer. A brilliant night. One to savour. Well done all.

A special mention to Anna Cosgrove and Aoife Sweeney from the u-14 squad who came along at short notice to supplement a depleted squad due to exams. They both played the whole game and looked very much at home .👏👏👏
