The Gers Minors started their Minor League Campaign this evening in Philipstown against St.Kevin’s.

The first half was nip and tuck with both teams exchanging scores. The Gers went in at the break 1-7 to 1-6 up. Ralf Tinsley and Cian Spaight both had two impressive scores. Cian Farrell done fantastic work setting up numerous scores including Jamie Soraghan’s goal.

The Gers lads turned the screw early in the second half after a great run by Jamie Soraghan who set up Cillian Lynch for a rasper of a finish to the top corner.

The Gers looked impenetrable in the second half only conceding three frees. The full back line of Darragh Fanning, Cormac Broe and Cathal Fee stifled any of the Kevin’s attack. Callum Boothman worked tirelessly from left half back.

All six subs made a big difference when introduced as the Kevin’s began to tire and the Gers ran out 2-14 to 1-9 winners. Next up for the Gers is St.Mochtas at home next Friday.
