Gers U9 Shine in Darver Summer Sun.
Last week rhe Gers U9s travelled to the Louth GAA Centre of Excellence in Darver on the longest day of the year to participate in the first All County blitz of the year.
Fielding 2 teams of 11, the lads played challenging matches against, the Gaels, Cooley, Brides, Naomh Martin, Glyde Rangers and Annaghminnon Rovers.
The focus was on: 1. Give and go. 2. Look for the space, especially when we're kicking the ball out. 3. No bad manners or indiscipline.
Management were happy that the lads followed instructions and were strong in all of the games that they played. We were especially happy with the lads attitude where they worked their socks off to regain the ball if we gave it away, and their near hand tackle and blocking was excellent.
We are especially thankful to the parents who ensured that lads had some goodies at the end of the evening, to reward them for their efforts. Training resumes next Wednesday 28th at 6pm.
